Cardio Ballet. Grace, elegance, strength.

Cardio Ballet is a workout training run by Jevgeni Grib at Rmagination Dance studio. There are used a traditional ballet barre and hand held weights. All these combine the grace with the strength training and modern exercise techniques.

 

Firstly, the practise of Cardio Ballet was invented by German ballerina Lotte Berk, living in London. She wanted to create something similar to ballet, but which could also serve as rehabilitative therapy. Her first studio opened in 1969 was so popular, that many famous faces such as Joan Collins and Barbara Streisand regularly came to this dance studio to take part in these classes.

 

There are similar workout programs around the world and all of them are created to build flexibility and grace, to strengthen and lengthen muscles and just to enjoy the dancing.

 

Lydia Bach, an American student of Berk’s, brought this dance to the United States and opened her studio in New York. Gradually the activity began to develop, and there were made many new variations of the primary Barre Workout training.

 

Today similar workouts are taught in almost all major cities around the world.

 

The advantage is that it can be danced by children and adults, beginners and intermediate. All you need is to have a passion for this style and desire to develop in this direction.

 

Cardio Ballet at Rmagination Dance Studio consists of moves, based on classical ballet positions, mixed with fitness workout and core focused exercises. In addition to the enjoyment from the main workout, you will notice changes in your body after only few classes.

 

The Barre Workout training starts with mat-based warm-up full of planks and push-ups, a series of arm and lower body exercises. The class is usually finished by series of core-focused moves at the bar or a short session on the mat. You can also use light hand weights or resistance bands. In contrast to typical training in the gym, Cardio Ballet contains isometric (small) movements, which will fire up the muscles and make them more elastic, but will not tear them. This classes will for sure make you stronger and help to engage these muscles, which have not been activated before.

 

The Barre Workout training is really a good alternative for those, who are tired of monotonous workouts at the gym. In addition, you will improve your mind-body connection and may lose weight.
